Vital, energetic and passionate, in the mid-seventies she began studying piano at the conservatoire and came to Barcelona to complete her studies. From the very first moment she combined her academic training with work, playing at parties, hotels, bars or any other place where she could earn a living playing live. She admits to being “very easily enamoured of good music”, which led her into the realm of rock’n’roll, rhythm&blues, soul and blues. She roamed Barcelona’s nightlife forming a duo with the singer Sweet Little Montse, and plunged into the maelstrom of jam sessions that erupted in the mid-2000s, where she began playing regularly with the city’s leading figures. At the head of her own bands or sharing a stage with musicians such as Bob Corritore, Dave Riley or Tom Principato, she has never stopped pouring out commitment and emotion. She confesses to being seduced by a genre that takes you into the territory of continuous improvisation and by the very fact of sharing music with other musicians there and then, which for this pianist is the most fascinating thing about performing it: “With the blues, everyone can draw out and express everything they hide inside their heart and share it in a matter of seconds”.
