He took his first musical steps with jazz, which for a drummer means having very solid foundations, and he discovered the blues when he put together a band with a group of friends in 2013, The Sick Boys. Their potent rock’n’roll with a rhythm&blues base took them to blues stages and festivals and to recording three albums. His producer, Dani Nel·lo, recruited him to accompany him at a concert with the Barcelona Big Blues Band, and this is where his true immersion in the professional blues environment began, a genre which, as a drummer, attracts him for its capacity to connect with all kinds of audiences and for the instrumental challenge it involves: “I love the rhythmic variety I’ve been finding over the years. You have to investigate a little to get away from the most typical thing. But if you do, you find some very interesting things”. With less than a decade of experience, he feels integrated and at ease in Barcelona’s blues scene: “A community of musicians eager to share what they love with the audience and with their colleagues”.
