Fats Domino, B.B. King and John Lee Hooker, discovered at the age of 16, were his first contact with the devil’s music, into which he gradually delved through the legendary Radio 3 programme Tren 3, presented by Jorge Muñoz, at the same time as he was learning to play the guitar and, self-taught, exploring a genre to which he would end up devoting his life. His career connects him with the pioneers of the eighties in his native Mallorca, such as Pep Banyo, whom he accompanied when he was nineteen and from whom he learned the arts and tricks of the musician’s trade. Since then he has travelled a long road that ended with him settling in Barcelona in 2015, where his guitar shines with a personality of its own. An excellent instrumentalist, gifted with a natural elegance and subtlety, he is also a profound connoisseur of the genre, in which what attracts him most is the freedom to express himself, to improvise and to reinvent himself. Now a fundamental figure on the Barcelona scene, this artist of discreet personality cultivates a subtle, intelligent irony, which he brings to the fore when he declares that the best thing the blues has given him has been “a lot of money”.
