Rhythm&blues, jump blues and rock’n’roll began to circulate through the musical veins of this virtuoso trumpeter from his first groups in the early nineties, when he began a career that he consolidated as a member of the band The Big Jamboree, in which he has served for two decades. Since then he has been an unavoidable part of the Barcelona scene of African-American roots music which, in his own words: “has a set of chords in which I feel very comfortable and where I can let myself go with the instrument”. Although his fundamental references are jazz trumpeters such as Clifford Brown, Miles Davis or Chet Baker, his admiration for bluesmen such as Big Joe Turner, pioneers such as Louis Jordan or precursors of rock’n’roll such as Wynonie Harris allows him to range across various styles, something reflected in his collaborations with different kinds of ensembles, in which, besides his unquestionable artistic quality, he displays the best the blues has given him: “Joy and the desire to play, always.”
