His first memories of the blues and jazz go back to the home where he grew up, and the logical consequence was that he embraced the genre with passion when he began playing the guitar at the age of twelve, interpreting ever since a genre that seduces him for its most emotional side: “The emotional part, both of the lyrics and of the way of expressing yourself through the instrument. I know what I believe in while I listen to or play the blues”. A devoted lover of the guitar, an instrument inseparable from his personality and one he masters with a particular virtuosity, his main references are the great classics of African American roots music, from Charlie Patton or Robert Johnson to Freddie King, Allman Brothers or John Coltrane. He arrived in Barcelona in 2003 to complete his studies in modern music at the Liceu, and he began collaborating with various musicians in the city. A musician of international renown across a wide range of styles, he confesses an intimate identification with the blues: “It has helped me to explain life through music, and it has given me the opportunity to travel the world and play with people from different cultures and countries”.
