It was as a jazz student in her native Serbia that she gradually discovered the nuances and the blend of styles that led her to the blues, and in 1998 she began to play professionally at the blues and jazz school in Belgrade. At the beginning of 2001 she arrived in Barcelona at the side of her partner Ivan Kovacevic, to become in a short time part of the city’s musical family. The beginnings were hard but promising, and she soon moved from playing on the biggest stage in the world, the street, to appearing in the city’s leading clubs with the cream of the local scene. An artist of sober, even apparently distant appearance, she unleashes all her passion when she blows her saxophone, with overwhelming power and mastery. She says she feels more drawn to the genres closely related to the blues that marked the era of the dance floors: rhythm&blues, swing, jive and rock’n’roll, represented by great names such as T-Bone Walker, Amos Milburn, Louis Jordan or Louis Prima, to whom she adds the influence of jazz musicians with strong blues roots such as Ben Webster, Lester Young, Illinois Jacquet or Cannonball Adderley.
