A skilful and virtuosic guitarist, a creative songwriter and a captivating singer, “Chino” set his heart on being a musician from the moment he learned to play the guitar at the age of thirteen. Stubborn by nature, he achieved it through sheer perseverance and ended up becoming an artist. He plays the blues with a deep knowledge of the genre and a venerable respect for the masters, but always taking them into his own territory. On his first European journey, at the age of eighteen, he fell in love with the resophonic guitar, his most lethal weapon. He returned to Barcelona in 2001, won over club and festival audiences and became a point of reference who can afford the luxury of moving masterfully along the paths of swing, manouche, tango or bolero, proving that Robert Johnson, Django Reinhardt and Oscar Alemán flow through his musical arteries with the same force. He adapts perfectly to stages large and small, but it is in the short distances of the clubs that he unfolds all his genius, with a live performance as musically unpredictable as it is daring in its communication. His bold temperament means that he sometimes lands in dialectical quagmires, from which he always emerges unscathed in order to win the audience over, his true speciality.
