The Big Jamboree · Barcelona Big Blues Band · The Velvet Candles · The Sparkles · Big Dani Perez Saxplosion · Alice and the Wonders
This elegant and skilful saxophonist immersed himself in the blues and rock’n’roll at the age of only twenty, through the group The Big Jamboree, the band where he began to accustom himself to being a musician around 1997 and of which he remains an indispensable element: “They introduced me to the jive and rhythm&blues of the forties and fifties of the last century.” Although he does not consider himself formally a professional musician, he has been getting up on stages for many years, both at blues and rock’n’roll festivals and in venues as historic and emblematic in the Barcelona area as El Cafè de Belgrado or La Boîte. His instrumental skill allows him to move with absolute ease across a wide range of African-American music styles: rhythm&blues, jump’n’jive, swing or rock’n’roll, always with the blues at the root, a genre whose spiritual strength seduces him: “The emotion in musical transmission.” With more than a quarter of a century of career behind him, he is quite clear about the best thing music has given him: “Without a doubt, the people I have met.”
