His case is as if he had fallen into the blues cooking pot. He experienced the Cerdanyola Blues Festival from childhood, and soaked himself in all the national and international artists who passed through it, which, together with an early listening to records by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix or Frank Zappa, inevitably led him to fall headlong into the devil’s music. By the age of thirteen he was already playing concerts with national and European reach, but the definitive leap into professionalism came with his joining A Contra Blues, the band that in 2014 won the European Blues Challenge and which projected him within and beyond the country. Forceful and spectacular, he allows himself to move with ease along the limits of the genre, from folk to grunge, passing through hip hop, soul, jazz and rock in the most varied styles. Caught by the essence and the feeling conveyed by the blues, he confesses himself fortunate to be an active and enthusiastic part of African-American music in the city: “Thanks to many great artists of this genre in Barcelona I have been able to learn, and I keep on doing so whenever I can.”
