Carajillo Blues Trio · Dr. Blues · 4 Copas · Julián Kanevsky Trio
He fell in love with the blues at first sight at the age of fourteen, when he saw a guitar-and-harmonica duo playing in a bar which the very next day became the Carajillo Blues Trio, an outfit that from the outset opted for authenticity and the underground: “With a couple of carts, we went from bar to bar playing without a prior appointment.” There he learned his trade as a musician and began an artistic journey that has led him to become an unavoidable figure on the Barcelona blues scene and to play with local and international names such as Joan Pau Cumellas, José Luis Pardo, Antonio Serrano, Alex Zayas, Carl Weathersby, Larry McCray or Slam Allen. His mastery and professionalism have led him to play with line-ups and projects beyond the genre, such as La Cabra Mecánica, Chivo Chivato or Hot Swing Machine, but it was the blues that allowed him to express himself sentimentally through music: “Pentatonic scales are wonderful for expressing yourself simply, without complexes. It also gave me attitude.”
