After a long journey through various countries such as Chile, England and especially Venezuela, which began when he was three years old and his parents left Barcelona, Leo returned to his native city in 2000 to end up finding the blues after twenty years of playing the guitar in projects of different styles, from pop to funk and rock. It was precisely the discovery of the blues guitar that turned his life around. Settled in the Clot neighbourhood, he became a craftsman, building blues guitars, of which he has created a spectacular collection, above all of cigarbox guitars: “Ever since I discovered this genre I became a craftsman, though in a way I already was one. Thanks to the instruments I have built, I realise that this is another way of following the blues route”. A specialist in Piedmont-style fingerpicking and in bottleneck slide, this enthusiast for spreading the blues through the cultural life of his neighbourhood is a passionate researcher into the history of the genre and its evolution through the guitar: “For me it all begins with discovering the blues guitar as a base, or a heavyweight instrument, within Black music”.
