Harmonica

The King Revelers · The Blues Prisoners · Bluesnet Band

The devil’s music crossed this harmonica player’s path while he was studying in the Basque Country, through a university classmate who tempted him with a cassette recording of music by Sonny Boy Williamson II and John Lee Hooker, which changed his life. Captivated by the Mississippi sound, he was abducted by the harmonica, an instrument that chose him — as this musician of exquisite taste, deep knowledge of the genre and subtle sense of humour states literally, wielding it in live performances and letting it lead him to very sharp confessions: “The blues has given me everything except a bank account stuffed with cash, a mansion and a really handsome car. But that’s normal, after all, that’s the blues.” His side as a scholar of the style has led him to give classes and lectures on the blues harmonica, its history and evolution, always with an attitude of dedication and passion that he defines almost as an epiphany: “The blues connected directly with me and I felt the need to express myself through this very special music and to share it.” Besides the groups he has been a founding member of, he has placed his harmonica at the service of numerous bands on the Barcelona scene.
