She began at the age of twenty with dance orchestras, and after a varied musical journey, from folk to chamber music, she has become one of the most appreciated saxophonists on the Barcelona scene, with an almost unavoidable presence in the city’s big bands. Her first encounters with the blues were the very opposite of love at first sight. When she was studying music she avoided it, but the blues kept knocking at her door again and again. Her relationship with other musicians and composers showed her that it was worth giving it a try. She gave it a chance and it is now part of her life, even though what caresses her ear is anything that sounds like disco and funk, the older the better, and if it comes to Stevie Wonder, Weather Report or Maceo Parker, so much the better. She confesses that the blues has allowed her to join a world of artists she has always admired, such as those of the Barcelona Big Blues Band, Dani Nel·lo or Myriam Swanson, and she shows absolute respect for the genre: “You can play it without feeling, but those who listen won’t feel anything, it won’t reach them”.
