There are few vocations as early as that of this austere, right-handed and effective guitarist, with the genuine sound of someone who knows the genre well. At twelve he spent his meagre savings on a record by Sonny Terry and Paul Butterfield. His uncle Marià, who played the guitar in Tabaco, a progressive rock group of the sixties, taught him his first blues chords on a Spanish guitar with which he did not quite know what to do. At twenty he began playing with The Midnight Rockets, a band led by Maurici Morera, and he became a regular figure on the Barcelona and Catalan scene. Little fond of the limelight and possessed of a considerable instrumental technique, he confesses himself seduced by the emotional attitude and the power of the blues: “Its capacity to make you vibrate, the fact that it never sounds the same and, especially, that it goes straight to the heart. Only someone who loves the blues knows what I’m talking about.” A declared lover of mountain biking, he displays the same concentrated energy when he plays live: “The feeling of going up onto a stage is priceless… and above all being able to share such an intense feeling.”
