His sister’s piano and a sixties electric guitar given to him by a friend of his father’s, on which he first played a version of Stevie Ray Vaughan, were the stepping stones of the destiny that a young Tòfol followed until he reached the blues, discovering it in the pioneering television music programmes of the genre through figures such as Big Mama Montse, Amadeu Casas or Víctor Uris. He began to take to the stage at fifteen and since then has travelled a vertiginous path that has led him to collaborate on the projects of his former musical references and to become an emerging figure on our blues scene, as shown by his selection to represent our country at the European Blues Challenge in 2025. Although his command of the instrument allows him to move through every style of African-American music, he has a philosophical, intimate relationship with the blues: “From the very beginning I felt that I could easily connect with the language of the blues and that, for me, playing this genre was very close to meditating. Today, playing the blues is the only way I have of stopping the noise in my head.”
