Known also as Strong Boy, he belongs to the batch of musicians that emerged in the second decade of the twenty-first century on the Barcelona blues scene, where he first showed his face at the age of eighteen, in the company of Amadeu Casas and at the legendary Honky Tonk Blues Bar. From that day on he focused his efforts in a single direction: to be a professional musician. After making a name for himself in the city’s jams and forming a duo with Gang Wolf Lightnin’, he joined Oscar Linares for three years, playing concerts all over the country. A devotee of the traditional blues of Charlie Patton, Son House, Scrapper Blackwell and DeFord Bailey, he settled for a time in Madrid, where he grew musically in various local bands, and then returned to his home city to go on delving into a music he loves for its capacity to express ideas and feelings: “In the blues there are no taboo subjects, you can talk about anything, about sex or politics; you can express sadness or simply that you feel like having a good time. That freedom is what attracts me most.” This bold, irreverent and impetuous harmonica player confesses that his best weapon is his cheek on stage and his ability to interact with the audience.
