Xavier Soranells

He began playing the guitar as a child, and at thirteen he set out on the road to becoming a professional, investigating the music that had influenced his musical idols. After forming his first bands with friends, he left for Boston to study at Berklee College of Music and played with local groups. When he returned to Barcelona, nine years later, he began collaborating with the most outstanding musicians in the country and became a studio musician, while creating his own band, Blue Heart. With this project he became a figure with a European reach, always with one foot in the United States. The blues is the music that allows him true artistic introspection: “When you are able to immerse yourself absolutely in the music you perform, a feeling of peace envelops you, of not thinking, where for a few moments you can escape from anything. It happens with the blues and with music in general”. He confesses that he is comfortable with the blues’ connotation of sadness, a music that has offered him something fundamental: “To be able to be freer every day”.
