El Último Tren

Cerdanyola del Vallès has always been a fundamental stronghold for Barcelona blues, especially through its International Blues Festival, one of the oldest in the country, which began in 1988. Four years later Ángel Martínez joined the town’s rock and blues scene with his Último Tren. It was the first rock’n’roll club with a regular programme of blues and rock music in the whole of the Vallès. Its opening coincided with the 1992 festival, and a close collaboration grew out of it from then on. The venue began programming live blues the following year and for fifteen years it became a point of reference for the genre, which shared space with soul, jazz and flamenco. In 2007 it closed its doors with a big party-concert in which the main bands that had made this venue their regular home took part.
