Honky Tonk Blues Bar

In February 1998, a group of four friends, Núria Martos, Carles Bosch, Jordi Subirana and Blas Picón, decided to take the plunge and try to make a dream come true: to set up a venue, the only one in the city, devoted exclusively to the blues. Years later Alberto Cardona joined the project. For twenty-three years it was the true temple of Barcelona blues, and every generation of the city’s musicians passed across its small but cosy stage, in memorable concerts in which most of the Spanish bluesmen also took part, along with a good many of the international ones who at one time or another passed through Barcelona. The respect for the music that could be felt there was the beacon that also guided a good number of enthusiasts from all over the country to its bar. In June 2021, property speculation left the blues congregation orphaned of its holy of holies.
