Jamboree

This pioneering venue on the jazz scene was founded in 1960 by the businessman Joan Rosselló. At number 17 of the Plaça Reial, the music of African-American root sounded for decades between the walls of its basement for a clientele in which Barcelona aficionados, the first tourists and sailors of the United States Navy mingled. In 1992, when the Olympic winds of transformation were blowing, Javier Cámara bought the venue and reopened it as a jazz cellar. A year later the Mas i Mas group acquired it in order to begin a new stage, open to various musical styles and generic cycles, especially since in 2013 Pere Pons took charge of the programming. In recent years it has significantly strengthened its blues programming, welcoming the city’s leading bands every Sunday in a special session.
