La Boîte

In 1991 the mantle of the Cova was taken up by this venue, which Joan Mas, of the Mas i Mas group, opened near plaça Francesc Macià, and which welcomed a new generation of musicians such as Lluís Coloma, Joan Pau Cumellas or Alex Zayas, who in time would become a reference point on the local scene. From the outset it programmed live music of every style, with a special dedication to the blues from the wave of bands that emerged in the late eighties and early nineties, such as Big Mama & The Blues Messengers, Big Chief, Blues Reunion or Tandoori Lenoir, to pioneering groups from elsewhere, such as Víctor Uris and his Harmònica Coixa, and a good number of international artists of various styles, such as Eddie Shaw, Clarence Gatemouth Brown or Dr. Feelgood, who in some cases, such as Hook Herrera, Café R&B or Eric Sardinas, became regulars in its programming. It closed its doors in 2004.
